Climbing the peak of Mt Kinabalu @ 4095M!!

Date: 16/1/2011 ~ 20/1/2011

Mount Kinabalu (Malay: Gunung Kinabalu) is a prominent mountain on the island of Borneo in Southeast Asia. It is located in the east Malaysian state of Sabah and is protected as Kinabalu National Park, a World Heritage Site. Kinabalu is the tallest peak in Borneo's Crocker Range and is the 4th tallest mountain in the Malay Archipelago after Indonesian Papua's Puncak Jaya, Puncak Trikora and Puncak Mandala. (source: wikipedia)

This is the second time I've climbed Mt Kinabalu but I have to say that this time is so much tougher compared to my first climb one a half year ago due to the punishing monsoon rain and not forgetting that this time around I've chosen the tougher Mesilau Trail which took us 8 hours to reach Laban Rata!!

Do check out the trail map of Mt Kinabalu at the side which I got courtesy of Amazing Borneo Tours which is where I book my package from.

Below are my tour itinerary:
